Clos de la Crochette is a fabulous vineyard site that has been producing wine for 1000 years in the village of Chardonnay, set high in the hills above Mâcon. The Lafons have old vines here on a steep south-facing slope and the wine shows the weight of fruit one might expect alongside an abundance of flavour.

A later malo is evident here as a lactic character presently dominates the nose. There is good concentration and solid intensity to the vibrant, balanced and focused flavors that display fine depth and length. This can't match the excellent '08 version but it should offer 1 to 3 years of upside. Drink: 2012+
