2009 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée Reserve Rouge, Domaine du Pegau

Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvee Reserve Rouge, Domaine du Pegau
Rhône 2009 - Berrys Recommends
Many of the CNDP we tasted were brilliantly made, fruit forward wines. Domaine Pegau though have crafted a wine that seems more serious and savoury in style, with a big brooding structure, a superb wine for the long haul.
(Matt Tipping, BBR Fine Wine)

Made traditionally, with minimal intervention, the Cuvée Reservée is dense, unctuous and decadent with blackberry and peppers buttressed by fine, sturdy tannins. Laurence attributes the distinctive licorice notes to the 10% of red clay in her vineyards.
