Chenin Blanc always seems to fare much better in its youth in South Africa compared to its natural homeland of the Central Loire, where it always needs age to show its true colours. Aromas of tropical fruit abound with pineapple to the fore, and a honeyed, waxy note in the background. On the palate there is crisp, refreshing acidity with a citrus edge to the finish. Delicious as an aperitif, with fried white fish or fusion cooking.

"Protea" represents their more affordable 'lifestyle' range. The 2010 Protea Chenin Blanc has a crisp, vibrant bouquet with lychee, pineapple and Granny Smith apples that simply leap from the glass. The palate is supremely well balanced with subtle tropical notes underneath a very focused, tense finish.
