2007 Berrys' Margaux, Ch. Giscours

Berrys' Margaux, Ch. Giscours
If anything the 2007 is even softer and more voluptuous than the 2006 and is drinking beautifully now. From the famous Château Giscours Estate in Margaux this wine has floral notes of youth which are starting to mature and there are hints of cedar and cigar. On the palate the full depth of sweet fruit is starting to shine through. Enjoy over the next 12 months, with shoulder of lamb or rib of beef.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dreadful This is not a good wine. I was not expecting much, for the price and region, but it is unpleasant to drink. It has the clear complexions that lend from the Margaux pedigree, but the flavours are way off. It tastes, simply put, metallic. It's unpleasant to drink. For comparable prices, there are nice Margauxs available (for example, hard to find but very nice, chateau barraillots 2008 is comparable in cost). If your wine budget wont stretch past this, I'd be looking at Crozes-Hermitage, Gigondas, or Chateauneuf-du-Pape - as you will find cheaper and significantly better wines. Sadly, cannot recommend to anyone. Annoyingly, I bought 3 bottles. 01 May 2013
