Riesling Grand Cru Muenchberg, Domaine Andre Ostertag
More classical than the Heissenberg, again dry and generously endowed but leaner in style; there is a steely, edginess to be found here. The nose is surprisingly forward at this stage with lime and apple aromas but the palate is somewhat tighter and more restrained. Plenty of acidity provides a taut backbone to this wine but there's a real sense of depth and weight here, the fruit will begin to really sing as the years pass. An attractive smoky character adds to my enthusiam further, drink 2016 onwards.
