The famous Calon-Segur 3rd Growth estate in Saint Estephe has a history that spans to Roman times. In the 18th century Calon Segur was part of the great Segur estate which included Lafite, Latour and Mouton. During this time, the owner, Marquis de Ségur, was fond of saying "I make my wine at Lafite and Latour but my heart is in Calon" - a quote which explains the heart illustration on the label.

Calon Segur is situated in the northernmost part of St-Estephe. The estate produces three red wines from its vineyard including the La Chapelle de Calon, a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with a Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot. The fruit is slightly earthy, quite dense, but with a clean and crunchy edge and notable concentration.Château Calon-Ségur
