Uncomplicated , refreshing Pinot Noir from one of California’s finest exponents of the grape, Jim Clendenen. The aroma is of strawberries and red cherries, with hints of spice and cedar; the French oak is well integrated and barely perceptible. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, the texture is silky, the tannins ripe and rounded, and the finish has good length and moderate intensity. All in all, a delicious, everyday Pinot Noir and your enjoyment of it will be considerably enhanced if you serve it cool, not at what passes for modern-day “room temperature”. Drink with light poultry dishes, rabbit or cold salmon.
