2010 Chapel Down, Flint Dry, Kent

Chapel Down, Flint Dry, Kent
The Chapel Down range continues to impress….. this is a well named and nicely rounded wine from Owen Elias and his team. This blend has a nose of freshly mown grass and paving stones after rain; the palate combines apply fruit and good depth, and a gentle hint of sweetness to confirm the ripeness of the fruit…a bonus given its provenance.

There is even a hint of tropical fruit in the 2010, which is natural and impressive rather than engineered and therefore disharmonious. A fine aperitif, this wine will work well with the light summer dishes, ideal in a year where it appears that we may, finally, be in for a proper summer.
