1989 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac Leognan

Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac Leognan
One of the few properties in the Graves to produce both first class red and white wines, Domaine de Chevalier is that rare breed of Bordeaux estate where quality goes in hand with reliability – year in, year out. Chevalier’s superb 1989 vintage is plump and forward, merging sweet cherry and blackcurrant aromas with a delicious hint of herbs and fleshy fruit. Silky, smooth and supremely intergrated.Domaine De Chevalier

Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac Leognan
The dark ruby-colored 1989 is a plump, forward style of Domaine de Chevalier. The wine displays smoky toasty oak that is better integrated than in more recent vintages. A smoky, herb-tinged, sweet cherry and black currant-scented nose is followed by a medium-bodied wine with low acidity, ripe, fleshy fruit, moderate tannin, and a nice finish.
