2006 Côte-Rôtie, Les Bécasses, Michel Chapoutier

Cote-Rotie, Les Becasses, Michel Chapoutier
Probably the finest basic Cote Rotie he has made since 1991 is the 2006 Cote Rotie Les Becasses. Dark ruby/purple with notes of cassis, bacon fat, smoke, and tapenade, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ripe, chewy, and long. This is heady stuff, a classic Cote Rotie that can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years.
