Legendary winemaker Jean-Philippe Delmas produces two of Bordeaux's greatest wines: Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Reflecting the character of the vintage, this La Mission has much more Cabernet Sauvignon than usual (48%, with 52% Merlot) which comes through on the more structured palate. This has a classy vanilla-oak nose with mocha hints. The ripe plum and cherry fruit is as pure and concentrated as ever although the tannins are more formidable than usual making this a real vin de garde. This is arguably just as good as its illustrious stablemate in 2002. Drink 2012-2020.Château La Mission-Haut-Brion
