The ultimate expression of Andre's 'Vin de Pierre' wines (terroir wines where the grape plays a supporting role), Muenchberg enjoys an ancient history (identified by Cistercian Monks in the 12th century) & a perfect setting in the shade of a 300 metre high mountain, carpeted with red sandstone & volcanic sediment. The result is a thoroughbred of a wine, still very much in its infancy, a quivering mineral mass that should probably be broached in 2015; the 2006 vintage giving it a fatter character similar to that of 1998.
