Deep in Aragon, the Tierga vineyard is located at 700 metres above sea-level, almost lost on the side if the Moncayo mountain range. Javier’s ambition was to seek a wine that would ‘leave the lips purple’ and he has certainly succeeded here with this amazingly powerful wine, an essential statement of low-yield Garnacha, with an alcohol level that is not for the faint-hearted.

Old vines have, of course, tempered the worst indulgences of the fierce sun and the ripe damson liqueur de cassis fruit cedes to a finely tapered long finish, with ripe fruit tannins skilfully wrought and beautifully integrated.
