For Domaine de Fontbonau , the tasting of the 2008 is promising. Although a relatively light vintage, certainly in comparison with such tannic and forthright years as 2005 and 2007, this is tasting very well, its oak integrated nicely and its fruit profile dominated by red berries and notes from the hedgerow.

Black pepper and a whiff of the garrigue complete the picture. Finesse and elegance abound; this is a most satisfying debut from a property which is set to join the first ranks of great Rhône producers
