This is a great introduction to the elegant wines of Lisini, whose Brunello di Montalcino is a classic. First made in 2002, San Biagio is 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown on nearby territory that doesn't qualify as Brunello or Rosso di Montalcino. Undergoing a cooler fermentation in cement to capture the wine's perfume, & backed by the tremendous 2009 vintage, this has Montalcino written all over it; boasting a minerally core & a soft, fleshy underbelly. Great for supper, or while you wait for your Brunello to come round.
