2009 Berrys' Good Ordinary Claret

Berrys' Good Ordinary Claret
"The 2009 Berrys' Good Ordinary Claret is far from ordinary. A delicious red Bordeaux at the price."
(Tim Atkin)

2009 was a great vintage across the board in Bordeaux, so it stands to reason our Good Ordinary Claret should be as well. Once again outdoing its name, this wine is juicy, succulent and quite frankly the best we've ever had to date, and at this price you can even afford to pour it for friends, if you can bear it. It's a shame we can't call it Damned Fine Quaffing Claret.
(Simon Staples, Berrys' Fine Wine Director)

Our Good Ordinary Claret has been consistently excellent for many years. There is harmony and balance, and the tannins are beautifully ripe so there is no austerity to the wine at all. Ready to drink now but capable of ageing for a few years, this is a worthy partner to a roast lamb dish or to hard cheese.Dourthe
