Description

In honour of the sixty-year reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II we shall tonight enjoy a celebratory banquet fit for a Queen. Your host, Martin Hudson MW, has put together a stupendous selection of wines with a representative from each decade over the past sixty years. The night will end in style with not one, but two special and rare treats from the first year of Her Majesty’s reign, 1952: a fine Armagnac from J. Nismes-Delclou and the incredibly rare 1952 Graham’s Colheita Tawny Port, bottled specially to commemorate the Jubilee year. Do join us in the spectacular surroundings of the Napoleon Cellar to mark and toast this very special occasion.

Wines to be tasted:

1999 Pol Roger, Winston Churchill, Champagne
2010 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
2006 Le Montrachet, Grand Cru, Bouchard Père et Fils, Burgundy (en magnum)
1989 Ch. Palmer, 3ème Cru Classé, Margaux, Bordeaux (en magnum)
1976 Imperial, Gran Reserva, CVNE, Rioja, Spain
1996 Ch. d’Yquem, 1er Cru Classé Supérieur, Sauternes, Bordeaux
1962 Ch. Latour, 1er Cru Classé, Pauillac, Bordeaux
1952 Graham’s Colheita Tawny Port
1952 Armagnac, J. Nismes-Delclou

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Napoleon Cellar Dinners

Join us at one of our popular Napoleon Cellar Dinners for a memorable evening of fine wine, fine cuisine and fine companyTucked away beneath our shop in the heart of central London, the cellars were once the largest working cellars in the capital. In 1999 they were converted to create London's most exclusive fine dining venue.

The impressive vaulted Napoleon Cellar (view virtual tour here) was so named after Napoleon III, who plotted his return to France here whilst in exile in England between 1838 and 1848.

Arrive at 6.30pm to a welcoming Champagne aperitif in our historic shop, before descending to the imposing Napoleon Cellar for a sumptuous four-course dinner and a myriad of fabulous wines. Throughout the evening your host and the wine estate’s representative will talk to you about the wines, sharing their knowledge and views, and helping you decide which you like best and why.
