Though tucked away in a side valley behind the two ‘Montrachet’ villages, Saint Aubin is a great source of fine, steely white Burgundy and some attractively fruity reds. Production used to be about 50:50 between the two colours but the whites are the more sought after and now represent two thirds of the crop.

There is a significant difference though between the best premier crus such as En Remilly and the vineyards tucked away further up the valley.

80 hectares of village Saint Aubin.
156 hectares of premier cru vineyards (15 in all). Best vineyards include En Remilly, Murgers Dents de Chien, la Chatenière, les Frionnes.

This comes from a blend of village vineyards plus occasional barrels of declassified Premier Cru. It is a delicious example of St Aubin, with some fresh apple and quince aromas, attractive fruit across the middle and a well balanced finish. Drink 2011-2013 .

	Medium-Full Bodied, Dry, White, Chardonnay, Ready, but will keep, 13% alc. This is a St. Aubin with a seductive citrus and blossom-infused nose, overlaid by hints of anise and cloves. The palate is elegant and refined with citrus and acacia blossom notes, intermingled with pear nuances. A very satisfying wine, with plenty of weight and ripe fruit.
