Soft, perfumed and totally Margaux. A bargain!

Rich, silky, intoxicating and 2nd Growth quality.

One of the very few '06s to surpass its 2005 on every level. Gives more satisfaction than several of the 1st Growths.

This is an amazingly consistent wine and offers terrific value. Treat yourself to a case of each colour.

Pontet Canet do a superb job in the vineyard which makes it possible for them to produce remarkable wine in the cellar - everything is in harmony this year.

Latour should always be a powerful wine (and certainly is this year) but Frederic Engerer has made a wine of striking elegance as well.

Another beautiful effort from this chateau that continues to produce consistently charming and brilliant wines. Silky, elegant and delicious, great value too.

Once again, Haut Bailly has come up trumps and gets my vote as the absolute 'Must Have' this vintage (as it was for '04 & '05). So elegant and pure in style with the complexity you'd expect from the best super seconds. Quite brilliant!

Simply extraordinary and for me, without doubt, the wine of the vintage! The style of the 06 is magnificent and only just a fraction behind the already legendary 2005. I can't wait to taste it in bottle.

A brilliant and attractively priced St. Emilion, one case simply isn't enough.

Truly marvellous with incredible grace, silkiness and purity and a structure that delivers great complexity.

Intense, deep, rich, multi-layered and almost endless, an incredible wine which left us speechless.

We usually offer this as the 'Barton Brace' with Leoville; together these two offer some real value as the Langoa is not far off its sibling's quality these days.

Firmly back in the hands of Xavier Borie and with his special touch the 2006 is one of their best efforts.

Leoville Lascases has always cut its own path and here the wine is as compelling as any recent vintage we've tasted. A huge brooding monolith of a wine, but beautifully balanced and harmonious.

For Cheval Blanc to have excelled in this way, it is a testament to the quality of the Right Bank wines in 2006. This has a quality of fruit that we found lacking in some other wines this year and is extremely long and intense. Bravo.
