Ways to shop
Ways to buy
You can buy wines and spirits directly from Berry Bros. & Rudd, by phone, in person at our shops or online. If you need any help or would like to order by phone, then please contact us.
On BBX, our fine wine exchange, you can sell your wine and buy wine from other customers. All wines on BBX are in bond and therefore are subject to VAT and Duty should they be delivered in the UK.
You can choose to buy wines directly from us and from a seller on BBX in a single order.
You can also buy wines en primeur. Learn more about en primeur wines.
Making payments
Card payments
To make purchases on BBX, it’s best to add your preferred payment card to your account. You can do this online or over the phone with our customer support team.
If your purchase exceeds your card limit, we'll hold your order for five working days to enable you to make a bank transfer.
Paying with credit or allowances
Customers may get a credit facility with Berry Bros. & Rudd in certain circumstances. This can be used to buy goods from Berry Bros. & Rudd directly but not from sellers on BBX.
If you have a credit balance in your account, you can use this to pay for wine on BBX. You will need to select this payment option in your account. If the value of your bid order is higher than your credit balance, the remainder will be taken from your preferred payment card.
Cellar Plan customers can use their three-month allowance for purchases directly from Berry Bros. & Rudd but not from private sellers on BBX.
Changing card details
You can update your card details at any time by logging in to your account.
If your card expires, you may not be able to place bids on BBX. You will be prompted to update your card before you can proceed.
Voucher discounts
Voucher discounts can be used to buy goods directly from us but cannot be used to buy wine on BBX.
Cash payments
We operate a cash limit in our London and Basingstoke shops. Any purchase where payment is made in cash (either in full or part of total order value) is limited to £5,000. This limit applies for a period of 30 days per customer. Any payment made in cash over £1,000 will need to be placed using a Berry Bros. & Rudd account. If the customer does not have an account, one will have to be created and identification will need to be presented to shop staff.
