Vincent Pinard owns vineyards in many of the best sites in Sancerre, including prized holdings in the famous Clos du Chene Marchand. From high quality fruit Pinard makes some of the most stylish and flavoursome wines in Sancerre.
Vincent now has 11 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vines and 3.5 hectares of Pinot Noir vines. He uses very low yields and hand harvests his grapes. In the winery, following a debourbage at low temperatures, fermentation is done parcelle by parcelle in thermo-regulated enamelled steel vats, with each cru maturing with its lies fins in suspension until March when the wines are finally assembled.
Harmonie is a cuvée produced from old vines (with yields of less than 30 hl/ha) and is a superbly well-balanced wine. After fermentation in new oak barriques the wine is left on its lees in cask for 6 months before being transferred to mature in vat until being bottled (unfiltered) at the end of the year. The result is a rich and superbly elegant wine.
