Giancarlo Pacenti has been described by Robert Parker as "A leader among the younger generation of producers..." in Montalcino. Since taking over his family's estate in 1998 Giancarlo has become one of the staunchest proponents of a modern approach to Brunello di Montalcino. The cantina is located in Canalicchio, a small village just south of Montalcino. The fruit is sourced from two family-owned vineyards in different areas of Montalcino: one to the northeast of the town, where the resulting wines are of great fragrance and silkiness and one in the hotter southwest area near Sant'Angelo in Colle, known for full-bodied, powerful, and rich wines.

Siro Pacenti produces Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and a Tuscan IGT Il Bersaglio.
