Allt A’ Bhainne (Gaelic for ‘burn of milk’) is a very young whisky distillery, opened only in 1975, and serves primarily to supply whisky for the Chivas Regal blends. The distillery is extremely efficient, and despite the fact that it is able to produce 4,000,000 litres of alcohol every year, it is built to supposedly be able to be run by a single person.
There has never been an official distillery bottling from Allt A’ Bhainne, although one may come across the occasional independent bottling.
Whisky from Allt A’ Bhainne is usually light and fresh, with sweet floral and perfume notes on the nose.
