The vineyards of Hochheim lie on the right bank of the River Main just before it joins the Rhine. The best vineyards, the Hölle, Kirchenstück and Domdechaney, are characterised by their heavy soils, which produce powerful and concentrated wine that can age for decades.

Domdechant Werner is a first-class estate with holdings in all the above-mentioned sites. It is owned by Dr Franz Werner Michel and produces medium-bodied dry and sweet Rieslings, which in the best vintages, can be cellared for 5 years and more.

The Spätlese wines in particular offer terrific value for money.
