The Zilliken family has been producing wine in Saarburg and Ockfen since 1742. Present owner Hanno Zilliken took control in 1981 and produces steely and elegant wines, which have great ageing potential.
His 4-hectare holding in the Saarburger Rausch constitutes nearly 50% of his total vineyards and is the source of his best wines. The wines are fermented in wooden casks in the 3-storey subterranean cellars, which are the deepest in the Saar.
