Jean Daneel was established in Napier in 2004. Son Jean-Pierre joined the business in 2005 as winemaker. Today, working out of a tiny establishment in Napier in the Overberg region, he has established himself as one of the top winemakers in the country and has achieved international acclaim for his outstanding wines. Jean Pierre’s signature white wine is the Chenin Blanc. The wine is aged in barrel for 12 months with 20% new French oak. As with the Rudera, the Jean Daneel wine is a balanced and beautiful example of South Africa’s take on the Chenin Blanc grape.
