Chateau Laroze

Chateau Laroze

Château Laroze is located in the wine appellation of St Emilion in Bordeaux, and was founded in 1882 by Georges Gurchy and his wife. The Gurchy name can be traced back to 1610 by records of the family’s ancestors producing wine in the same area.

George bought three small vineyards which were merged together to form one: the Laroze estate. At this time, the vineyard was only fifteen hectares large, but was to be expanded in the years to come. The Château was built three years later, in 1885, complete with cellars and a vat house.

In 1955, the wines of Château Laroze earned Grand Cru Classé status in the St Emilion classification. Since 1990, Guy Meslin, George’s son, has managed the family Château, and has modernised all facilities to ensure great success and exceptional wine growing
