Grati

Grati

The Grati family have been producing wines in the Chianti Rufina region, north of Florence for five generations. The Galiga and Vetrice estates, run by Aziende Agricole Grati extend over 562 hectares and are situated between Pontassieve and Rufina.

The vineyards themselves comprise over 100 hectares, the majority of the planting is to the classic Tuscan grape variety, Sangiovese, but there is a certain amount of the other traditional red grape varieties of the region, Colorino and Canaiolo. As well as vines, the estate is planted with the olive and cypress trees so typical of the region.

The wines are long-lived yet supple with good colour and classic Sangiovese character.
