Château La Croix de Moines is located north-east of the town of Libourne in the heart of the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. Since 1976 it has been owned by Jean-Louis Trocard whose family has owned vineyards in Bordeaux since the XVIth century. The property consists of 8 hectares of vineyards planted with 80% Merlot,10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The vineyards are ideally sited and lie on deep gravelly topsoil with iron pan in the subsoil.

The grapes are hand-harvested and the wines are matured in oak barrels for 14 months. This is one of the best properties in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation and the wines are some of the best value to be found in Bordeaux today.
