Château du Cléray is located south east of Nantes on the Atlantic coast of France. The Muscadet region benefits from constant oceanic breezes and ancient granitic soils to produce one of France's classic wine styles.
The Sèvre et Maine zone is acknowledged as one of Muscadet's best, so-named after the local tributaries. Château du Cléray's 30 hectares of sand & clay, in the commune of Vallet, was acquired by the Sauvion brothers in 1935. More recently nephew Pierre has returned from sojourns in the New World to breathe new life into the vines & the estate
