Founded in 1529 by Jean Girard, this is one of Savigny's oldest domaines. Nowadays the domaine is run by Georges Girard and his son, Philippe.
The domaine has 15 hectares of vines in Savigny, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe Corton. Grapes are only partially de-stemmed and then undergo a relatively short cuvaison of around 12-13 days in cement vats. The wines then spend between 12-18 months in oak casks before being given a light filtration prior to bottling.
These wines are very well made and can reward keeping for up to 10 years.
