Dominique Gallois

Dominique Gallois

Dominique Gallois took over this domaine from his father in 1989 and now has 3.5 hectares of vines consisting of a mixture of village and 1er Cru sites at Gevrey-Chambertin. "My skill is only aiding nature`s natural course," says Dominique and thus the policy here is minimum interference and as far as possible letting the wines make themselves. 80% of the grapes are destemmed and are then macerated for around 15 days.

Dominique does not like the overt toastiness of new oak, so consequently the wines are very judicially oaked. The wines combine power, structure and elegance and have the pedigree and depth of fruit to reward further keeping.
