Brian Croser`s technical prowess at Hardys in the mid 1970s produced wines that swept all before them. The story of Petaluma began in 1979 when Croser planted some Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in the Adelaide Hills. 21 years later Croser is now a living legend in Australian winemaking circles.
Petaluma has vineyards in the Adelaide Hills (Chardonnay), Coonawara(Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot), and Clare(Riesling). The single vineyard Triers Chardonnay had its debut vintage in 1998 and is already one of Australia's most sought-after cult wines.
All Petaluma wines benefit from at least 5 years-bottle ageing and the Coonawara red from up to 10 years.
