About this WINE
Chateau Lynsolence
Château Lynsolence is one of the most recent additions to the ranks of St- Emilion "garagiste" wine producers. Lynsolence's 5 acres of vineyards are located in the commune of St Sulplice de Faleyrens in the south-east part of the St-Emilion appellation and its vineyards lie adjacent to those of Monbousquet and Valandraud. The 35-year old Merlot vines are planted in sandy soil and cropped at a low 28 hectolitres per hectare.
Lynsolence is produced from 100% Merlot grapes, which are harvested at optimum ripeness. The wine is vinified and matured in 100% new oak barriques. The first vintage was the stunning 1998 and subsequent vintages have been met with acclaim. Only 600 or so cases of Lynsolence are produced each year, yet the price of the wines has yet to reach the stratospheric levels of other garagiste wines.

Description
"As small neighbour of Monbousquet (only 5 acres in size), this is a 100% Merlot wine made from 35-year-old vines cropped at 28 hl/ha. With admirable size, intensity and power, the dense ruby/purple coloured 2000 offers thick, chewy, black cherry and currant fruit, medium to full body, low acidity and layers of glycerin. It should be delicious young, but evolve for 12 years. The vineyard produced 625 cases in 2000." 90/100 pts (Robert Parker - Wine Advocate - Apr-2003)
