About this WINE
Bodega Mustiguillo
One word summarises the Mustiguillo message and that word is Bobal, one of the greatest and most under-rated of Spanish grape varieties, and now on the cusp of a renaissance in the Mediterranean vineyards to mirror that of the Mencia varietal in Bierzo and other parts of North-West Spain. Mustiguillo is a family project, dedicated to organic viticulture and the pursuit of elegance and finesse rather than excess oak and the like. A well-rehearsed mantra maybe, but one that does not have many adherents of such pedigree.

Description
Toni Sarrión’s Vino de Pago from Valencia is a triumphant celebration of the Bobal grape. Ripe red and black fruit sings from its every pore, with such exuberance that one is almost surprised to learn that the wine has enjoyed 18 months in barrique. Such is the wine’s concentration, the oak influence is only detected by attractive soft spices on the finish. Reassuringly decadent.
Simon Field MW - Wine Buyer Bobal is a grape to watch out for. Packed with rich black fruit, it is a voluminous wine with spicy notes and a pronounced lengthy finish.
