Description

By far the smallest of Bordeaux’s major appellations, and with no official classification, Pomerol is still a star in a region of stand-outs, with many top, if tiny, producers. New World and Old World producers alike have attempted to replicate Pomerol’s success with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon: this evening is a chance to see whether any have come close. Come and taste a range of wines in a series of blind line-ups, first comparing different communes within Bordeaux, and then stepping outside France to compare New World Merlots, Super Tuscans and Napa giants against some top Pomerol wines, including Ch. Lafleur. Hosted by Barbara Drew, Wine and Spirit Education Specialist

Wines to be tasted:
2015 Ch. Plantey Canteloup Rosé, Bordeaux
2013 Berry Bros. & Rudd Pomerol by Ch. Feytit-Clinet, Bordeaux
