Description

This evening will be an in-depth look at Ch. Léoville-Las Cases and Clos du Marquis with your host Barbara Drew, Wine and Spirit Education Specialist. The original Super Second, Ch. Léoville-Las Cases
is one of the largest and oldest Classed Growths in the Médoc, and is without doubt the leading estate in St Julien. Producing a rich and exotically perfumed wine, this is the only estate to have removed itself from the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés en 1855, believing itself to merit First Growth status (rather than a Second Growth). This evening is your chance to test that assertion. Over the evening, you will taste through a range of wines from the château, focusing on the character of different vintages, pausing along the way to consider classification systems and second wines. This is a unique opportunity to drill down into Bordeaux and explore this magnificent producer’s wines in depth. Hosted by Barbara Drew, Wine and Spirit Education Specialist
