Description

Glen Moray distillery was formerly a brewery which was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, it spent most of its early years in silence until it was bought by new owners in the 1920s and eventually expanded in 1958. The nose is fresh and uplifting with apple skins, polished oak and soft confected honey notes. The palate develops with a trace of cloves and some lovely hints of liquorice. The finish is gentle, soft and lingering.

Glen Moray Distillery, Speyside

Glen Moray Distillery sits on the banks of the River Lossie in the feted whisky region of Speyside. The story of Glen Moray begins in 1897 when the former Elgin West Brewery was converted into a distillery. Unusual for the time, its whiskies were matured in Marsala wine and Sherry casks. Ever since, Glen Moray has experimented with maturing whisky in a variety of casks and pioneered the use of different wood finishes and combinations.

Today Glen Moray is renowned for producing a malt which is both sweet and fragrant, with wonderful ripe fruit characteristics. It is owned by La Martiniquaise-Bardinet.
