Berry Bros. & Rudd's examination courses are devised by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). These formally and internationally recognised courses are followed by those entering the wine and hospitality trades, but are also ideal for those seeking official recognition of their achievements.
We’d like to assure you that we’re running our WSET courses in line with government advice, with social distancing and hygiene measures in place.
During the course, emphasis is on personal tuition and group discussion in our unique surroundings. As well as delicious lunches, refreshments are served during the day. The course ends with a celebratory glass of Champagne to toast your achievement.
The price covers WSET examination fees, course materials, accredited tuition, use of our equipment and our tasting samples. Course materials and mock papers are sent to you before the course begins, so you can start your studies before classes commence.

This four-week Saturday-morning course will be a fun and informative way to complete the WSET Level 2 qualification.
Starting at 5.30pm with tea, coffee and a light buffet supper, you will be coached for an intensive course. The course includes a revision day on Friday 4th August, before the exam at 4pm on Monday 7th August.
The WSET Level 2 Award is devised by the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and is the internationally recognised course that is followed by those entering the wine and hospitality trades. It can be comfortably achieved by those with little or no previous wine knowledge. A selection of wines will be tasted at each session, offering a broad introduction. The course also teaches tasting techniques which can be employed to gradually build your tasting experience. We cover the syllabus in eight sessions and the examination is sat in the final, ninth session by way of a 50-question multiple choice paper to be completed within one hour.
The course cost covers WSET examination fees, WSET course materials, WSET accredited tuition, use of Berry Bros. & Rudd equipment and tasting samples. Course materials are sent to you in advance after registration and we recommend that you read them thoroughly before starting the course.

Session 1: Course introduction, tasting technique, food and wine pairing, and social responsibility
Session 2: Factors influencing style, quality, price and the wine label
Tuesday 1st August 2017:
Session 3: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
Session 4: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc
Wednesday 2nd August 2017:
Session 5: Syrah, Grenache, Riesling and feedback test
Session 6: Other white grape varieties/white wines, sweet wines and spirits tasting
Thursday 3rd August2017
Session 7: Other black grape varieties/red wines
Session 8: Spark NB Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s stock at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards.
