This trio comprises three of the finest English sparkling wines – offering a superb introduction to our nation’s bubbling production. Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvée offers a fine mousse with a frisson of toasty, almond and honey notes. It’s joined by Hambledon Classic Cuvée, a wine which famously caused a fizzy stir when it scored more points than those from Pol Roger, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger in a blind tasting. And last, but most definitely not least, the 2013 vintage Brut Reserve from Kent’s Gusbourne Estate. This wine is filled with red-fruited charm, sweet spice and citrus, with a soft pastry note from its 28 months on the lees.
