Description
Join historian Hugh McDonald-Buchanan in our cellars to explore the history of Calvados and the Loire. Over the afternoon, your Berry Bros. & Rudd wine expert give you a tasting of 3 wines from the Loire and a Calvados. Hugh will elaborate on the history of the region while you tuck into a selection of delicious dishes. In June 1944, the D-Day landings took place amongst the orchards and pastures of the department of Calvados. The invasion then liberated the wine country of the Loire, before trapping the enemy in Falaise, and liberating Paris in August. This will be a fascinating lunch and learn.
