Description

Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin both compete for the title of most sought after village in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. Both have an enviable number of Grands Crus, the names of which need no introduction, and both are capable of producing mythic wines with an astonishing ability to age. However, their styles are quite different, with Gevrey often providing more muscular, savoury wines and Vosne hiding its power under layers of silkiness and finesse. This evening’s dinner will pit these two giants of the wine world against each other.  Across four delicious courses, carefully prepared by our Head Chef Stewart Turner, we will compare and contrast the villages. Your host, Wine and Spirits Education Specialist Barbara Drew, will guide you through the villages, exploring different vineyards, vintages and producer styles along the way, before the final clash, with two classic and mature Grand Cru wines. A must for Burgundy fans.
