This IGT is a blend of 60 percent Marzemino and 40 percent Barbera grown in the clay and limestone rich soils of the La Venga vineyard on the southern side of Lake Garda. The La Venga site is in the small village of Montonale, from which the estate takes its name. The fruit is all hand-harvested and undergoes careful selection prior to de-stemming and crushing. Fermentation is in stainless steel and the wines see no oak, aiming to emphasise the purity of fruit and a sense of place. Katherine Dart MW, Wine Buyer
