Description

Join author and political journalist Simon Heffer for a lunch of fine wine and vinous history as he talks about the vivid characters in his new work The Age of Decadence. Over a sumptuous lunch, Simon will explain how the Edwardian age gave birth to a generation of statesmen such as FE Smith and Sir Winston Churchill who regarded keeping a well-stocked cellar as necessary as a frock coat; before expanding on the decline of wealth and influence of the sort of people who would have been Berry Bros. & Rudd customers in the Belle Époque. Paired with four courses, inspired by our own Edwardian menus and carefully prepared by our in-house team of chefs, the lunch will finish with a short interview and Q&A session with Simon. Hosted by Will Lyons, Fine Wine Advisor, with guest speaker, Simon Heffer

Dress code: smart casual

NB Wines for this event will be chosen from Berry Bros. & Rudd’s stock at the time of the event, so most will be available to order afterwards.
