Description

Join wine writer and author, Harry Eyres, in the Long Room for an evening spent appreciating the Epicurean delights of Horace and wine. Harry is the son of a wine merchant and both a wine writer and poetry editor. In 2004, he created the Slow Lane column in the FT Weekend to promote the thoughtful enjoyment of the priceless pleasures and values which make life worth living. Harry’s memoir “Horace and Me: Life Lessons from an Ancient Poet” contemplates the influence of Horace and classical literature on his life. During the tasting we will explore Italy and Greece enjoying wines from the region of Horace’s birth to match a four-course Roman banquet. Hosted by Olivia Bodle, Events Administrator

Wines to be tasted:
Franciacorta Satèn, Biondelli, Brut, Lombardy, Italy
2016 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Cirelli, Abruzzo, Italy
