Spot the Grand Cru Burgundies, Thursday 13th June 2019

Description

We will begin this wonderful evening of Burgundy by first blind-tasting the line-up: four Grand Crus and wines from adjacent plots. We will also taste a very well-known Premier Cru next to a plot in the neighbouring village. By sampling wines from adjacent plots in Burgundy, we will be able to notice and discuss the differences. It is difficult not to be fascinated by the concept of boundaries within the villages, especially when the division is between a well-known cru and a lesser known one. It promises to be a very interesting evening. Hosted by Rebecca Lamont, Head of Wine School.

Wines to be tasted:

Tutored Tastings

Tutored Tastings

Unfortunately, we have postponed all events at our St James’s premises until the start of July. We are constantly reassessing the situation and considering the feasibility of events after this date. In the meantime, we are offering virtual tastings online. We’ll arrange delivery of wines, glasses and a corkscrew to your guests ahead of a guided tasting with one of our expert hosts. For more information, please contact us.

Treat yourself, your family or a client to one of our exclusive tutored or walkaround wine tastings. One of our experts will guide you through a range of wines while educating you on the evening’s topic. From blind tastings to producer focusses, these are unmissable chances to broaden your wine knowledge.

At our walkaround tastings, a selection of fascinating wines will be set out for you to explore, with an expert on hand to elucidate on the evening’s theme.

The Napoleon Cellar and the Pickering Cellar provide the perfect venues for your tutored wine tastings.

Sussex cellar is our newest event space with terracotta archways and intimate yet contemporary feel. Design influences hail from Spanish wine cellars or Bodegas, and use handmade London tiles to create archways and columns that extend through both the mezzanine and the sub-basement level of the cellars.
