If you can’t resist the lingering scent of an autumnal bonfire, then this evening is for you. While it is one of the oldest ways of preserving food, “smoking” is a trend featuring more frequently on menus across the land, not just influencing savoury foods but also extending to our drinks and desserts too. Come and discover how this versatile flavour can add richness and depth to even the simplest of ingredients. Over the evening you will be guided through a range of whiskies and mezcals, by whisky ambassador Stefanie Holt and agave ambassador Gabriela Moncada, exploring their production and maturation. Our Head Chef Stewart Turner will produce three smoky mini dishes to match with the spirits. Hosted by Barbara Drew MW, Wine & Spirits Education Specialist

At our walkaround tastings, a selection of fascinating wines will be set out for you to explore, with an expert on hand to elucidate on the evening’s theme.

The Napoleon Cellar and the Pickering Cellar provide the perfect venues for your tutored wine tastings.

Sussex cellar is our newest event space with terracotta archways and intimate yet contemporary feel. Design influences hail from Spanish wine cellars or Bodegas, and use handmade London tiles to create archways and columns that extend through both the mezzanine and the sub-basement level of the cellars.
