Haggis, Wine and Whisky Dinner, Friday 24th January 2020

Join us for a special supper in the Napoleon Cellar to honour the haggis and the Bard of Ayrshire, Rabbie Burns. We will be serving some delicious wines and excellent drams – including fine white Burgundy and single malt Scotch – alongside a traditional Scottish feast, prepared by our Head Chef. The evening will, naturally, include an Address to a Haggis, as we explore both the grain and grape over an indulgent dinner. Hosted by Henrietta Gullifer, Fine Wine Specialist, and Ronnie Cox, Brands Heritage Director

Wines and spirits to be tasted:
2015 Meursault, Les Grands Charrons, Domaine Michel Bouzereau, Burgundy
2014 Andrew Will, Two Blondes Vineyard, Yakima Valley, Washington State, USA
Berry Bros. & Rudd Dry Oloroso by Barbadillo, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Jerez, Spain
Berry Bros. & Rudd Classic Sherry Cask, Blended Malt Scotch (44.2%)
1992 The Glenrothes 2nd Edition, Speyside, Single Scotch Malt Whisky (44.3%)
The Perspective Series, 21-Year-Old, Blended Scotch Whisky (43%)

Dress code: smart casual

NB Wines and spirits for this event will be chosen from the Berry Bros. & Rudd and the producer’s stock at the time of the event and may not be available to order afterwards.

Unfortunately, we have postponed all events at our St James’s premises until the start of July. We are constantly reassessing the situation and considering the feasibility of events after this date. In the meantime, we are offering virtual tastings online. We’ll arrange delivery of wines, glasses and a corkscrew to your guests ahead of a guided tasting with one of our expert hosts. For more information, please contact us.

Whether a lavish six-course banquet in our Sussex Cellar or a more intimate affair in the Long Room, we host a range of dinners focusing on wine regions, styles or producers. After a drinks reception and introduction from your host, you will sit down to enjoy a selection of remarkable wines matched with equally impressive food.

Our Head Chef Stewart Turner will design a menu to complement the wines you taste, while between each delicious course your expert host will guide you through the wines in front of you, giving you the opportunity to discuss their styles and ask questions.
