This six-bottle selection has been put together by Leon Reilly, Manager of our Warehouse Shop in Basingstoke, and his team.
To mark our Warehouse Shop reopening, we’ve had fun putting together a mixed case of our favourite wines. What better way to welcome a new season of brighter mornings and lighter evenings than to enjoy a glass of something delicious? Our first choice is the Crémant de Limoux, the perfect fizz on a sunny Sunday afternoon, with a few (socially distanced) friends in the garden. Secondly, we’ve included a 2018 Chablis from Didier and Pascal Picq: it’s fermented and aged in stainless steel, resulting in an opulent wine which is best appreciated in its youth. The 2016 Saumur Blanc from the Loire Valley is cool and crisp, just as you’d expect from a Loire Chenin – it’s delicious and refreshing in warmer weather. The Whole Shebang is an exciting multi-vintage Californian wine, blended with old-vine Zinfandel and many other varietals. Next, we have the ’18 Vendimia Rioja, a youthful and punchy red with notes of spice, tapenade, tar and liquorice – alongside the classic hallmarks of Tempranillo, cassis and blackberry. Finally, the Gaba do Xil is from Valdeorras in Galicia, which gives it a refreshing Atlantic character. Made from Mencía, it has a spicy, herbal nose with notes of violets, thyme and cherry.
This case contains one of each of the following:
2018 Antech, Crémant de Limoux, Expression, Brut, Languedoc 2018 Chablis, Dessus la Carrière, Didier and Pascal Picq, Burgundy 2016 Saumur Blanc, Chenin du Puy, Frédéric Mabileau, Loire Bedrock Wine Co., The Whole Shebang, Cuvée XIII, California, USA 2018 Vendimia, Palacios Remondo, Rioja, Spain 2017 Gaba do Xil, Mencía, Telmo Rodríguez, Valdeorras, Spain
