Description

California is unquestionably producing some of the greatest fine wines of modern times and this dinner will hopefully elucidate just why that is the case. The evening will commence with two wines produced from California’s premier white grape variety, Chardonnay. We will try side-by-side a Santa Barbara Chardonnay made by a French winemaking team and a Russian River Valley iteration of the same grape by Californian legend, David Ramey. From then on, the focus will be on red wines, starting with two elegant and perfumed Pinot Noirs from the Santa Rita Hills and Sonoma Coast, respectively. The evening will conclude with a study in Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends from some of the finest producers in North America, with a rare opportunity to try aged wines from the iconic Paul Hobbs, Cardinale, Colgin and Vérité. For any California wine lover this is an evening not to be missed.
